0233 Scalo Farini Masterplan, Milan, IT
Atelier Kempe Thill joined a group of designers to work on a strategy that tries to combine high density urban development with as much as possible public green, for the future masterplan of the former Scalo Farini railway yard in Milan. The aim is to enhance the living standard of the inhabitants of the city of Milan. The new neighborhood park forms, together with the already existing graveyard Cimiterio Monumentale, one big urban grossform that will function as a new public monument on the Milan scale. All the building program is organised around this intensly green almost forest like park. It consists in high-rise buildings with a minimum footprint, in order to offer a maximum of public space.
